#ShotForSam Offers Free Beers for Vaccines
Continue to like what the folks at Sam Adams are doing from a marketing and PR perspective.
Let’s face it, Samuel Adams is no longer the “microbrew” of yesteryear. Sam is big beer, and they’ve got to compete and breakthrough against the bigger boys. Awhile back they made a decided shift to get lighter, funnier and embrace their Boston roots with “your cousin, from BAWWW-STIN!” spots and efforts.
They’ve gotten bolder (remember this Super Bowl Clydesdales bit) , looked increasingly to pop culture for inspiration and increased their agility. No doubt the folks at A-B playing a role in motivating those changes.
Their latest “#ShotForSam campaign follows that theme. Sure, the whole get-a-vaccine-and-we’ll-give-you-stuff (see: donut) has been done. Yet, this strikes a the right chords between our now-familiar cousin, a dose of humor and the direct call-to-action and promise of $7 delivered via the Cash App (details here).
Sometimes creative execution is best dictated by logic. Embrace your brand. Figure out what your business needs (butts in bars). Put the two together. Drink in the “bonus” of a message around vaccines for the greater good.
We’ll drink to that…now, pull your pants up, cuz.
